The first episode of the second season of Love on the Road on Dutch broadcaster NPO3 performed much better than its predecessor First Dates and all other shows in the same time slot in previous months. In the 20–34 age group, Love on the Road achieved a high market share of 11.8%, well above the target of 8%. In the 20–49 age group, the show achieved a share of 10.0%, also well above the target of 7.5%.
Love on the Road is a lighthearted and addictive daily reality dating series in which van-lifers travel across Europe while constantly meeting new dates. They are allowed to have a maximum of three dates at the same time, but they must choose their ultimate love before reaching their dream destination.
The first season of Love on the Road aired from November through December 2024. The program attracted an average of 202,000 viewers on the day of broadcast, rising to 225,000 viewers when including delayed viewing.
The first season also performed exceptionally well on streaming, with more than 6 million stream starts during the broadcast period. This made Love on the Road the second most streamed NPO program in that period. On average, each episode generated almost 200,000 streams during its run.
