Down the Road, the award winning format
Last night, Down the Road won the AIB Impact Award. This prize is awarded by the Association for international broadcasting and recognizes a format that has had a major social or political impact. It is the first time that a feel-good program like this won the prize.
In May 2019, the series Down the Road also won the first prize in the "Documentaries - Human relations and values" category at the World Media Festival in Hamburg. The Festival honours "content" in television, film, online and print from all over the world, and is considered one of the most important international prizes.
And in 2018 Down the Road won the 57th Rose d'Or awards in the Reality and Factual Category.
In Down the Road, Dieter Coppens goes with six young adults with Down Syndrome on a journey of a lifetime. During this trip they find independence, love and experience life without limits or labels.
